An ASTM thermometer must conform to all accuracy tolerance and dimensional specifications of the American Society for Testing and Materials. The ASTM's Committee on Temperature Measurement (E-20) meets annually to examine and, if necessary, revise/add/delete the specification for each of the ASTM thermometers. All of the ASTM thermometers are fully described in Brooklyn Thermometer's current Catalogue, available FREE upon request.

What's the difference between a Laboratory grade and Precision grade thermometer?

A Laboratory Grade Thermometer measures temperature in 0.5, 1, 2, or 5° divisions. A Precision Grade Thermometer should be used when 0.05, 0.1, 0.2, or 0.5° divisions are required. Brooklyn Thermometer manufactures the largest stocked selection, with over 110 Laboratory and 270 Precision Grade thermometers; plus, all our ASTM, Calorimeter, Maximum Registering and Red Liquid filled thermometers.
